The IRS recently announced new 2019 limits for health savings account (HSA) contributions, as well as out-of-pocket expenses for high-deductible health plans (HDHPs).
Contribution limits increased $50 for self-only coverage and $100 for family coverage:
Out-of-pocket expense limits increased $100 for self-only coverage and $200 for family coverage:
2019 HDHP deductible amounts were also announced, but are the same as in 2018 – $1,350 for self-only coverage and $2,700 for family coverage.
Remember that to participate in an HSA, an employee must also be enrolled in an HDHP.
